Stella Jean

Italian-Haitian designer Stella Jean has found the perfect medium for her message – high-fashion. The native Roman was first exposed to the fashion world as a model for Egon von Fürstenberg, where she quickly witnessed the potential to communicate through clothes. She turned to design shortly after, debuting her first collection at Milan Fashion Week in 2012. By 2013, the self-taught emerging designer had been handpicked in an unprecedented move as Giorgio Armani’s personal protégé.

Inspired by her Creole heritage, Italian upbringing and political science background, Stella Jean crafts her signature aesthetic with cultural meaning and classic craftsmanship. She works directly with disadvantaged communities, supporting local artisanship, women’s empowerment, sustainable sourcing and fair-trade production. Tribal prints, ethnic textiles and natural dye techniques are impeccably tailored in modern, sophisticated silhouettes, reflecting her commitment to both ethics and fashion that’s established the identity of her growing eponymous label.
