At the time Hubert was searching for a remedy to heal his severe burns after a lab explosion. It took him almost 12 years to find the perfect elixir based on a variety of kelp called Macrocystis pyrifera. The mixture was so powerful that the burns on the Hubert’s body were totally erased. La Mer was launched in 1965 with this elixir, christened Crème de la Mer, becoming one of the most popular products up until today..</span></p>
