Inspired by the sturdy look and feel of men’s jeans, Alexa Chung wanted to capture and incorporate the essence of menswear denim into a women’s collection. Creating something women will cherish and reliably wear day in, day out was an important consideration that inspired Chung’s designs.
Referencing vintage rock band vibes of the sixties and seventies, Chung’s two collaborations with AG Jeans included dark wash dresses, rompers, miniskirts, overalls, and a reinterpretation of the button-fly. Taking after Chung’s cool-preppy, modern-vintage style, each piece combined her distinctive taste with the impeccable craftsmanship that AG Jeans is well known for. The result was a fresh, youthful look with attention to detail and quality materials that pays homage to the longstanding heritage of vintage denim.
In 2016, Chung returns to AG Jeans as the face of its Fall 2016 advertising campaign. Presenting a capsule of classic chic designs – high-rises, A-lines, and flares – the collection effortlessly channels the fashion maven’s free-spirited energy.
